Sound protection

Not every living situation can meet the requirements for our need for peace and quiet. Living in the city, on a street with traffic or in the vicinity of a railway line or air traffic can have a significant effect on our well-being. Scientific studies have proven that loud and, in particular, continuous noise makes us sick. Not only adults suffer from concentration and sleep disorders as well as negative effects on blood pressure and heart rate caused by noise, but also children. The ear is on alert day and night. Noise at night disturbs the natural rhythm of the deep sleep and dream phases – even if one does not wake up. It is therefore not possible to become accustomed to nightly noise. Noise during the day may be bothersome, but it is not as damaging as at night. For restful sleep (especially for children), the noise level in the bedroom should not exceed 25 dB. Here, selecting the right sound insulation is not the same thing as using the greatest possible amount of sound insulation.

Modern pvc window systems offer an effective solution here. The quality of the window profile is what determines the quality of sound protection. Windows have different levels of sound insulation, depending on the construction, tightness, total thickness of the glass, distance between the panes and type of glazing. When choosing the right window profile, it is necessary to bear in mind that the glazing and window frame have a reciprocal effect on each other. Sound insulation can therefore only be determined for the window as a complete unit. The use of an innovative profile system already contributes to improving sound protection. It increases the quality of living and prevents any possible adverse effects caused by noise stress. Depending on the intensity of the noise, special glazing can be used. The higher the sound protection class, the better the sound-insulating characteristics of the window. If the noise level is reduced by just 10 decibels, the perceived noise level in the human ear is cut in half. An intelligent multi-chamber profile system with up to three sealing levels ensures excellent sound protection. The generously dimensioned rebate allows use of thermally insulating and acoustic glazing. That enables sound protection of up 47 dB.
